The least said about this game, the better. Town held their own for the first 20 minutes without really threatening the Ridgewaye goal but six goals in 10 minutes before half time meant that the game was well and truly up with only half of it gone. Four more goals without reply in the second half meant that for the first time a Shirley Town team conceded 10 in a game. Town gave their all but were just outclassed by a team that´s simply in the wrong division.
